About Our Library

Library Govt. Girls Polytechnic Raipur is the central library of the Govt. Girls Polytechnic Raipur. The Library caters to the educational and research needs of the academic community and its resources are consulted by scholars from all over the country. Library Govt. Girls Polytechnic Raipur has started functioning since 1987.

At present, the library holds about 21,600+ books and 2,000+ back volumes of periodicals. Apart from the online journals and educational video courses library provides cassettes and CD-ROMS etc. 

The Library Govt. Girls Polytechnic Raipur is automated with integrated library software package called E-Granthalaya developed by National Informatics Centre (NIC), New Delhi. This technology offers fastest, easiest, most efficient way to track, locate and manage library materials.

Our History

​In order to create technical awareness among the women and to impart technical education and enrich their knowledge in the year 1987 Govt. Technical High School was upgraded to Govt. Girls Polytechnic, Raipur under the World Bank Scheme with prime focus on development of women. The institution started with two courses namely Diploma in Commercial Practice(1989) and Diploma in Electronics & Telecommunication Engg. (1990). At present following trades are being run in the institution which are recognized by AICTE. The courses are: Architecture Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) Costume Design & Dress Making (CDMM) Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering (ET & T) Information Technology (IT) Interior Decoration & Design (IDD) Modern Office Management (MOM) Pharmacycontent and make changes to the font. Feel free to drag and drop me anywhere you like on your page.

The organization is connected with the Mumbai-Howrah, South Eastern Central Railway. It is approximately 4 kms from the Raipur Railway Station and also connected with the NH-6. As soon as the Chhattisgarh State came into existence on 1st November 2000 and Raipur became the capital of the state its importance become more significant. The institution is approximately 12 kms from the Mana Airport.
